The World Bank and the Ministry of Public Health have agreed to experiment in Cameroon, the health financing strategy based on results / performance through the Support Project for Investment in the Health Sector (PAISS). To this end, the MoPH established a number of contracts with Performance Purchasing Agencies (PAAs), including the IRESCO-AEDES consortium, to provide technical support for the implementation of the system.

The objective of this project was to set up a funding mechanism wherein health structures are subsidized on the basis of their performance in relation to the quantity and quality of health services provided to the population.
